|
Kampala City Council (KCC), is mandated by the local government
Act 1997, to provide numerous services. It is divided into two
arms with one being administrative and the other being political.
Kampala City consists of five (5) divisions namely:- Central,
Kawempe, Makindye, Nakawa and Rubaga.

| Division |
Kampala City is divided into five divisions with distinct
attractions in each of the divisions. These Divisions are
semi-autonomous and undertake their own planning and budgeting
although these are later integrated into the larger district
council plan and budget. The five divisions are:-
Central, Nakawa, Makindye, Kawempe, Rubaga.

Ensuring conformity by schools to the set standards and policies. |

Development and administration of extra curricular activities. |

The education department is fairly well constituted in
terms of institutional set up, and professional manpower
who take care of school inspections, sports activities and
carry out Education Assessment Resource Services (EARS). KCC has
set up guidelines for the establishment of schools and
educational institutions. (Refer to guidelines attached).
